Passengers at Germany’s Albrecht Dürer Airport Nürnberg can look forward to visiting an ‘all yours’ shop from next year.

Developed by smartseller, the all yours concept merges duty-free, food service, and convenience into a single unit. At Nuremberg, the individual elements will be combined into an open, integrated concept, which will see existing space redesigned and expanded.

A highlight of the new retail space will be its strong connection to Nuremberg and the region of Franconia, which will be reflected in the range of food and drink on offer. For the running of the new all yours retail space, smartseller and Airport Nürnberg have founded a new joint venture. Each party holds a 50% stake and the agreement will enter into force on January 1, 2024, subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.

The new company

The Duty Free and Travel Value shops are currently operated by the airport itself. The managing director of the new company – smartseller nürnberg – will be Sebastian Schäfer, manager of the airport’s own shops. The acting representatives of the company will be Klaus Dotzauer, commercial director of Flughafen Nürnberg and managing director of the airport subsidiary Flughafen Nürnberg Service, and Karl Niendorf, managing director of smartseller. smartseller, a joint venture established between Gebr. Heinemann and the travel food service chain casualfood in 2020.

The Nuremberg all yours shop will be the fourth, with outlets already operational at Ljubljana, Münster/Osnabrück and Leipzig/Halle airports.

“The collaboration on this joint venture has been planned for at least ten years. Both parties are very happy with the result. It has been demonstrated once again that smartseller is the ideal partner for medium-sized airports because we are prepared to develop an individual solution together at all times,” said Karl Niendorf.

Klaus Dotzauer from Airport Nürnberg added: “The renovation of the shop and the integrated concept mean that we are succeeding in presenting the range of products for passengers in a more varied and comprehensive way in a space that already exists. Together with smartseller, we will continue to improve our passengers’ shopping and travel experience.”
