San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is reopening its Yoga Rooms in the post-security areas of Terminals 2 and 3.

The Yoga Rooms have been closed for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both facilities are free to use and open during passenger hours. Common-use yoga mats will be disinfected regularly, the airport stressed.

SFO opened the world’s first airport Yoga Room in January 2012 in Terminal 2, in an effort to make air travel less stressful and more enjoyable. Drawing inspiration from contemporary artists, the architects designed a room enveloped in a calming blue colour. A floating wall symbolises a buoyant spirit and enlightened mind. Light levels are set low and warm in juxtaposition to the bright, light-filled concourse.
