Perth Airport has joined forces with Destination Perth to promote the western Australian city to the world as a must-visit destination.
Kate Holsgrove, the airport’s acting chief executive officer, said that Perth Airport is committed to increasing visits to the city, particularly from key international markets.
“This partnership agreement is proof of our commitment to Perth and supports the important work of Destination Perth and Tourism WA in promoting Western Australia [WA] to the world as an incredible holiday and events destination,” she said.
“The value of tourism to Perth is significant for our economy with WA’s tourism industry supported nearly 30,000 tourism businesses, generating 100,900 jobs and contributing A$11bn in visitor spend.”
Destination Perth chief executive officer Sonja Mitchell said that the partnership with Perth Airport will promote her organisation’s membership base of more than 500 tourism operators located across the region, including accommodation and entertainment venues, attractions, transport, tour and cruise operators and restaurants to international visitors.
