Dr Yemaya Bordain has been appointed vice president of technology to the board of directors at the Advanced Air Mobility Institute
Yemaya Bordain, PhD has joined the Advanced Air Mobility Institute as vice president of technology to the Board of Directors. Bordain brings a forward-thinking perspective to her new role, according to the institute.
“I am grateful to join such an esteemed and visionary organisation,” she said. “As technology in aviation progresses at increasing speeds, it is crucial to take the long view on how those changes will have an impact on the world. The AAM Institute provides a forum to explore and, indeed, to create a future equal to its potential. Foremost on my mind is how we can ensure safety, promote personal connection, and prove the efficiencies of Advanced Air Mobility by use of the novel hardware and software now poised to revolutionise transportation.”
Bordain currently serves as president of the Americas at Switzerland-based Daedalean, a company pioneering AI-powered flight control and navigation systems to provide pilot assistance today and enable autonomously flying aircraft in the future. Since joining Daedalean in August 2022, she has been instrumental in launching its presence in the Americas and overseeing a portfolio that encompasses innovation, business development, product management, marketing, communications, and partnerships.
“Yemaya Bordain will be an incredible asset to our team,” said Dan Sloat, founder and president of the institute. “In particular, her expertise in the field of autonomous aviation will help guide the development of our new human rights multi-stakeholder initiative. More details to come on that effort.”
