The Sharjah Airport Authority been recognised for its commitment to sustainable development in the United Arab Emirates.
The Authority has won the Sharjah Excellence Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which honours responsible practices involving employees, the community and the environment.
Sharjah Airport Authority received the award at a ceremony on February 23 organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
His Excellency Ali Salim Al Midfa, chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “Our programmes are consistent with our mission to provide excellent services while ensuring a safe travel experience for everyone. Through innovation, Sharjah Airport has been significantly contributing to the growth and development of the emirate, driving various social responsibility campaigns that empower the wider community.”
Aside from its sustainable projects and social initiatives, Sharjah Airport Authority promotes institutional partnerships and works with other organisations to implement projects and activities related to sports, health, education and the environment. It also engages in voluntary and charity work, humanitarian assistance and promotes events celebrating national and international occasions. Al Midfa added that the Authority was awarded the Sharjah Green Award in 2018 and Sharjah Corporate Social Responsibility Award in 2019.
