Setur, a Koç Group company, has opened a brand-new duty-free store at Cologne-Bonn, one of the busiest airports in Germany.

The Turkish company will manage the duty-free and duty-paid operations at Cologne-Bonn Airport for seven and a half years. Setur Duty Free will be responsible for a 1,500m2 sales area across two terminals of the airport, which operates thousands of flights to 150 different destinations, and serves 12.4 million passengers annually. Setur, which opened its first store in Terminal 1's 900m2 shopping space, will open further sales sections in Terminal 2 in the second phase of the project.

The store has been designed as a premium duty-free offering, in an open market space architectural style that reflects the cultural lifestyle of Cologne and Bonn. Sustainable and recyclable surface materials are used inside the facility, and innovative solutions have been implemented with a view to improving the consumer experience. Digital solutions will improve the consumer experience by digitalising the retail experience, leveraging data analysis, and unlocking potential, according to Setur.
