Analogic Corporation has deployed its ConneCT Computed Tomography (CT) system at Plattsburgh International Airport (PBG) in New York.

Deployment of the checkpoint security screening system is part of the new Checkpoint Property Screening Systems (CPSS) programme of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which comprises 300 mid-sized CPSS Systems at airports across the US.

Analogic says the CT screening technology will significantly improve both aviation security and the passenger experience by providing enhanced 3D images for security officers and increasing throughput, all in a touch-free environment. Tom Ripp, CEO of Analogic, described the system as “the first true step on the journey towards implementation of totally frictionless security processing.”
