Oman Airports has signed two agreements to operate commercial activities for small and medium enterprises at Muscat International Airport

The agreements were signed by Sheikh Aiman bin Ahmed Al-Hosni, CEO of Oman Airports, and on behalf of small enterprises by Amer Al-Shaibani, owner of Arzan Al-Raedah, and Ahmed Al-Maamari, owner of Ghusn Feresiya for Perfumes.

Oman Airports aims to enhance the presence of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) within the airport and to open various commercial outlets. The company is working to boost the role of SMEs in economic diversification, increase their contributions to the local economy, and empower youth to build and manage their institutions to become effective in achieving sustainable development.

In 2023, Oman Airports allocated direct and indirect business opportunities, with a total value estimated at nearly 4 Million Omani Rials (£8.15m), towards small and medium enterprises. A further 20 million Omani Rials (£40.75m) were spent on services from local companies within the Sultanate, including new and existing service contracts.

Oman Airports provides opportunities within the airport environment for small and medium enterprises, in terms of prioritising their services to visitors and travellers, as well as to employees through organising various SME job fairs on the airport premises.
