Oakland International Airport has signed a year-long, multi-media advertising partnership with Oakland Roots Sports Club.

The partnership includes the designation of the San Francisco East Bay airport as the Official Airport of Oakland Roots SC. It also involves in-game venue branded signs, introduction of a re-branded Mosaic + section as the I FLY OAK Mosaic + section, on-line digital features and the famous “I Fly OAK” logo emblazoned on the shoulder of the official 2023 Oakland Roots jerseys.

“We could not be more thrilled to partner with the Oakland International Airport,” said Oakland Roots SC chief revenue officer Steven Powell. “We look to partner with organisations that represent our city with great professionalism and standards, such as OAK. The service and convenience they provide to our region is unmatched.”

The airport will leverage the advertising programme to promote its convenience and reliability to both fans of Oakland Roots SC and visitors. The programme will also create awareness of an ever-growing list of destinations, including recently added flights to New York/Newark, Philadelphia, Dallas-Fort Worth, Baltimore/Washington DC, and San Salvador.

“Oakland Roots is a purpose-driven team that seeks to harness the magic of Oakland and leverage the power of sports as a social force for good.” said Port of Oakland aviation director Bryant L Francis, adding “In addition to promoting the flights and services available at OAK, we find that this advertising partnership aligns with the Port of Oakland’s core values. We look forward to an exciting season.”
