Newcastle International Airport has installed MEP TCS990 Voice switch within its air traffic service

Airport technical staff worked alongside Copperchase and MEP to achieve a solution that encompasses both the main and contingency control towers. By implementing the new system, Newcastle air traffic controllers are now using a very intuitive system. This main system consists of eight working positions (a combination of IP and E&M) and is connected to 21 radios. The system is prepared for IP telephony and IP radios. With a system availability of 99.99% and a total power consumption of 20% of the previous VCCS this provides an extremely reliable and energy efficient solution, its developers said.
