Memmingen-based Goldhofer is to work with Welcome Airport Services, one of Poland’s largest ground handling service providers.

Welcome has been responsible for aircraft and passenger handling services for various airlines for almost 25 years and is affiliated to leading aviation infrastructure company Polish Airports (PPL). Welcome currently has more than 2,000 employees working at its locations at eight Polish airports.

The company offers a wide range of services in the fields of air cargo, aircraft and passenger handling in compliance with the highest quality and safety standards. It now has a full portfolio of Goldhofer ground support vehicles.

“We are delighted that Welcome has chosen Goldhofer as a partner for its expansion strategy,” said Brigitte Aumayr, area manager Europe Airport Technology Goldhofer. In addition to Sherpa cargo tow tractors, and Bison D370, D620 and D1000 conventional tow tractors, Welcome has now ordered a Phoenix P towbarless aircraft tractor for their ground handling fleet, which has been delivered in May 2023 already. “The Phoenix towbarless tractor enables us to respond even faster, more effectively and more economically to the strong resurgence in traffic volumes at Polish airports,” said Marcin Klejdys, logistics director at Welcome.

In addition to general airport services, Welcome will also be responsible in the future for servicing and maintenance work related to the Goldhofer product portfolio, both for its own fleet and for other GSE operators using Goldhofer vehicles. The company’s workshop network also carries an extensive stock of spare parts, so that any repairs can be carried out quickly and efficiently.
