In another reflection of the upwards swing in passenger numbers, the Bottega Prosecco Bar at Dubai reopens on December 22.
The Bottega Prosecco Bar, located in Terminal 3 (Gate A) of Dubai International (DXB), has been closed since March 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Its strong performance pre-pandemic, however, convinced both Bottega, its owner, and partner HMSHost International to reopen as soon as conditions made it possible.
Sandro Bottega, president of Treviso, Italy-based Bottega, said: "We are particularly satisfied with this reopening, which testifies to our ability to readjust to the new specificities imposed by the pandemic. In these months of forced inactivity, we have tried to make the structure increasingly sustainable. We have also expanded the range of natural products to gluten-free pasta and alcohol-free sparkling wines, which will be available shortly."
The Prosecco Bar was inspired by the Venetian bacaro, an informal tavern, as the foods are presented as cicchetti, or snacks to be consumed at the counter, and as more structured dishes to be served at the tables. Wines on offer range from sparkling wines such as Prosecco, to well-established reds such as Amarone, Brunello di Montalcino, Ripasso, and dessert wines. The bar also offers white wines and grappas, together with a wide range of fruit-and cream-based liqueurs.
