Calgary Airport Authority has selected PCL Construction as the construction manager for the West Runway Rehabilitation project

With construction expected to begin this year, the Authority is partnering with PCL on the next steps in a project that will create over 300 temporary construction jobs and bolster Calgary International Airport (YYC) as a major economic driver.

“The West Runway Rehabilitation is a keystone project for YYC and will play a pivotal role in the long-term success of our airport and the greater Calgary region,” said Chris Miles, chief operating officer for Calgary Airport Authority. “Given PCL’s depth of experience, the Authority is confident in its ability to help contribute to this historic project in a safe and efficient manner.”

With sustainability as a priority, the Authority is working with PCL, contractors and consultants to deliver Canada’s first airport project certified under the Envision framework for sustainable infrastructure, which incorporates sustainability into the design, construction and operation of infrastructure systems and projects.
