King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has won ACI’s Airport Carbon Accreditation.

Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport has, says operator Riyadh Airport Company, been rewarded for its environmental protection and carbon management strategy, by obtaining certification from the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme run by the Airports Council International (ACI).

Commenting on this achievement, Eng. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Maghlouth, CEO of Riyadh Airports Company, said: “We are keen to adopt and apply the best international standards that protect and preserve the environment. Obtaining this certificate proves the airport’s commitment to confronting climate change and reducing carbon emissions.”

Al-Maghlouth added, "We will move forward with our environmental initiatives in compliance with the best international aviation standards, and we will complete the carbon emissions management accreditation programme, which includes mapping, reduction, optimisation, and transformation, until we achieve carbon neutrality."
