UAE-based company marhaba, the provider of premium airport passenger services, has opened its first airport lounge in Australia.  Recently completing over 25 years of operations in Dubai, marhaba is building its global network and in addition to its new facility in Australia, it also opened a new lounge at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport in July this year. marhaba also offers a meet and assist service and operates lounges in Dubai and Bahrain.

The spacious Melbourne lounge features comfortable seating for 200 guests, a quiet zone, shower facilities and buffet food from around the globe, plus Hudson Coffee is also on site in the lounge, preparing fresh coffee from its dedicated barista bar.

Speaking at the official opening of the lounge on September 13, Gary Chapman, President, dnata, said: “Australia is a very important market to us and we continue to look for opportunities to bring more of our services to customers here.”

Melbourne Airport is the second busiest in Australia and one of the most important travel gateways in the country with more than 33 million passengers in 2016. International passenger traffic is expected to reach 64 million by 2033.  Passengers wishing to use the marhaba lounge can make online bookings or walk in and pay for access on the spot.
