Strike action by British Airways cabin crew set to take place over the Christmas holiday has been suspended says the Unite union.
Unite’s cabin crew members had voted to strike on Christmas Day and Boxing Day in a dispute about pay and conditions. The issue concerns some 4,500 employees who have joined the airline since 2010 and are working on Mixed Fleet contracts.
Hastily arranged talks at the conciliation service, Acas, produced a revised offer from the airline, which will lead to another ballot vote for Unite members in due course. However, the move has averted any strikes over Christmas.
