Norwegian airport operator Avinor is installing the world’s largest multi-airport operational database at 45 of its airports, centralising the core operational systems into a single information technology (IT) environment.

The Amor Group’s Chroma Airport Suite will centralise the majority of systems, including airport operational databases, resource management systems and flight information display systems, allowing Avinor to have a real-time view of all aspects of its airports.  This will ensure truly collaborative decision-making which aims to increase performance and enhance passenger experience.

Chroma Airport Suite incorporates all the key risk management, flight information and passenger movement monitoring elements that airport operators rely on daily.

Tore Weum, Chief Information Officer at Avinor, commented:  “With air passenger numbers increasing year-on-year, we have to ensure we continue to make the experience of using our airports as straightforward and enjoyable as possible.  We wanted to standardise, simplify and realise greater operational efficiencies across our network of airports.  This approach with Amor Group delivers that.  It ensures we have an accurate overview of our entire operation and allows us to continue improving the experience for both our passengers and airlines.”

The eight-year agreement, with an option for four additional years, hopes to provide a number of benefits, including reduced system administration and maintenance costs and more precise flight information data.
