Armstrong International Traffic Growth Continues

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, USA, reported a 0.6% rise in passenger volumes to 8,600,989 in 2012, compared to 8,548,375 in 2011.

Departing passengers increased 0.6% to 4,306,707 while arriving passengers went up 0.7% to 4,294,282.  According to the airport, Bureau of Transportation Statistics show that “35 comparable medium airport hubs” were collectively down by 1.69% through the year-to-date in September 2012, compared to the same period the previous year.

Southwest Airlines carried 33.2% (more than 2.8 million) of passengers in 2012.  Nine airlines, including one international, served the airport last year, and Spirit Airlines became the tenth in February 2013.
