Malaysia Airlines has rolled out its first aircraft decorated in the livery of the oneworld alliance, which the flag carrier joined today (February 1).

The aircraft was unveiled at a special ceremony at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) ahead of a formal joining ceremony and press conference.  Malaysia Airlines’ Group Chief Executive Ahmad Jauhari Yahya was accompanied by oneworld counterparts and members, including the alliance’s CEO Bruce Ashby and Alan Joyce, Chief Executive of the Qantas Group, which acted as Malaysia Airlines’ oneworld sponsor during the joining programme.

Malaysia Airline’s first aircraft decorated in the oneworld livery is one of it latest Airbus A330-300s.  It made its first commercial flight today as flight MH129 from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne, departing at 10:15am.

A further two aircraft in the fleet are to be decorated in the alliance livery over the coming months.  As part of a massive rebranding, oneworld logos have been applied to the rest of the carrier’s fleet, check-in desks and signage, website, tickets, boarding passes and stationery.
