Lambert-St Louis International Airport, USA, has completed renovations and reopened the final sets of restrooms in its Terminal 1, as part of a $70 million Airport Experience Program.

Men’s, women’s and family assist restrooms now feature white counters, colourful tile walls, new lighting, stalls and plumbing fixtures.  Additional mirrors, seating and hooks were also included for military personal who use the airport’s USO.

In the last 18 months, nine sets of restrooms in Terminal 1 and Concourses A and C have been renovated.  New facilities have also been built in Terminal 1’s Bag Claim.

Director Rhonda Hamm-Niebrugge commented:  “For our passengers and our employees, the complete makeover of our restrooms is one of the most important projects in this entire campaign.  We now have facilities that are fully updated in design and functionality.  They’re also easier to maintain and clean which is one of our biggest customer service priorities at the airport.”

Furthermore, a new entertainment stage for events and performances has been built in Terminal 1.

Renovations to the lower level are 90% complete.  Higher, brighter ceilings along with new circular lighting have been added.  On the upper level, work continues on new ticket counters and terrazzo flooring.  The Airport Experience Program is scheduled to be completed in 2013.
