G4S has won a £250m (US$403.6m) contract to provide security services at Oslo Airport, Norway, for the next six years.  The company will be responsible for securing the terminal and providing services within its perimeter.

Services provided will include security checks for all crew, goods, and cargo, and for the airport’s 21.1mppa until 2019.

Oslo Airport plans to expand its terminal by 1,259,378sq ft (117,000m2), adding a new pier and baggage handling facility.  When complete by 2017, G4S will be responsible for a number of key facilities including security service of all outdoor gates and grounds.

G4S has worked with Oslo since 2008, providing more than 750 staff for a variety of security roles.

Director David Stockton commented:  “[This contract] shows how successful we have been in delivering security and a wide variety of additional support services to Oslo Airport.  Our business model is based on the understanding that we must deliver a service that complements the work of our partners at Oslo Airport.”
