Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced that it will order 25 additional widebody Airbus aircraft, comprising five A380s and 20 A350-900s (pictured).

The latest A380 order will be the third placed by the airline, bringing SIA’s total number of orders for the ‘superjumbo’ to 24.  The airline, which was the 2007 launch operator for the A380, now has 19 in service, flying to ten destinations from its Singapore base.  The A350-XWB (‘Xtra’ Wide Body) order will see the carrier double its backlog for the brand-new aircraft to 40.
