From October 11, Alaska Airlines will operate a five-days-per-week service between San Diego International Airport, California, and Orlando International Airport, Florida, both in the United States.

The new route is projected to have a $30.4 million economic impact on the central Florida region.

Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, commented:  “Alaska Airlines’ decision to provide non-stop service between San Diego and Orlando will provide much welcomed, bi-coastal access for a number of key business partners in both regions.  This type of investment strengthens economic, leisure and cultural bonds between our two communities.”

The routes will be operated on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, capable of accommodating 157 passengers.  (Image:  Alaska)
