TRANSAERO AIRLINES has strongly denied a newspaper report that it had approached the Russian government about buying state-owned Orenburg Airlines.  The privately-owned carrier, however, conceded that it is assessing the “idea of participating in other carriers’ equity” but insisted its interest “lies outside Russia.”  Transaero General Director Olga Pleshakova said she has “never considered Orenburg as our competitor due to completely different business models.”
