May 18: An Antonov An-24B belonging to Afghanistan-based Pamir Airways crashed in a mountain pass in Afghanistan yesterday, reports the Aviation Safety Network.
The aircraft was en-route from Kunduz Airport on a domestic passenger flight to Kabul Airport with five crew members and 38 passengers on board, according to a government spokesman. All were killed in the crash.
Pamir Airways had only recently begun domestic operations with the aeroplane, having recently acquired it from Bulgaria.
